Steps and advice on making sure your shipping container functions properly
An important part of getting a shipping container is proper care – and this includes leveling the ground underneath it, before it arrives. Depending on the surface your container will be sitting on, there are certain steps you can take to make sure you get the most of your container.
Most people are not aware of the importance of leveling a shipping container. The container doors will not work properly if the container is not placed on a leveled ground.
A shipping container sits on their four corners which are called “corner castings. The cross members on the floors underneath the container should not touch the ground. This is an important information to keep in mind when leveling a container. If the container is placed on grass or packed dirt, any moisture trapped underneath can rise into the subfloor, creating mold – which could result on your container not lasting as long.
The below are examples of what can be used to level and slightly raise your container off the ground. Thus allowing air to flow freely underneath your container.
